Market hangover

Remember that feeling of partying all night and then having to go to uni in the morning and feeling sleep deprived and a little hung over?

Well that's how we felt all day yesterday due to a baking induced hangover and no sleep. Luckily we had my lovely and always smiling sister-in-law there to look after the hungry crowd.

Overall it was a fabulous market, wonderful stalls once again, great crowd and of course the best craft table in town.

Speaking to the other stallholders it did appear quieter than the previous market but it was a little windy outside despite the rain holding off.

My wonderfully talented and creative sister was there with her beautiful wares.
and we had some lovely friends drop by for a much needed visit (I am actually trying to hold my head up on the little one :p) .
There will be more photos coming that I will post on the Northside Makers Flickr group when I have finally come out of this hung over state.

Fabulous market organisers thank you and for those that I saw throughout the day, please do not think that I am always so 'spaced out'...just tired.

Thank YOU ♥

Thank you sweet friends for your beautiful birthday messages and for making me smile throughout the day.

It was a little sad to celebrate my first birthday without my dad but it was a good day with some lovely friends, a fabulous icecream cake and my beautiful and loving family which I appreciate every day even more.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and leave your messages, it has been very hectic of late and I haven't been able to reply back to you personally but I do LOVE and appreciate reading your sweet words.

Hugs and hope you are having a fabulous day

You would have probably guessed by now that my sewing skills are not what you would call...well, not any at all really, but I have been inspired by all you lovely crafty ladies to get started and what would you think my most perfect pincushion would be...yep, a teacup!

So a lovey, lovely lady knew that this would be my dream pincushion without even being told.

Thank you Kate for your very lovely present that has me smiling and excited about....PINS!!!

My Place and Yours.....My Collection

Don't you just love it when someone wants to see your collection of special treasures, things that you have accumulated over time, things that you love to look at, to hold, to use, to love, to admire, to be inspired by and of course things that make you smile.

The wonderful theme queen this week
Kate wanted a peek at our collections and as Kate mentioned, it's hard to just pick one, so I picked four of my favourite collections for you to have a peek at.

Hope you enjoyed my special treasures, pop by the ever so lovely Pip's for more collections.
Thank you Kate for wanting a peek at my special collection..s!

Ginger Snaps

We are off to Nanny's and we know Nanny loves anything with ginger, so we made her a little surprise.

Ginger Snaps recipe from Women's Weekly
makes about 48

  • 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped crystallized ginger
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 200g butter, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • preheat oven to 160 degrees C, grease oven trays
  • process sugar, gingers, flour and butter in a food processor until mixture resembles breadcrumbs, add egg and process until a ball is formed
  • turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll small teaspoons of mixture into balls, place on trays, allowing room to spread and flatten slightly with a fork
  • bake about 20 minutes or until slightly golden. allow to cool
This is a great recipe for the little ones to help out with by rolling and flattening the dough.

Hope you have a fabulous day, enjoy

My Place and Yours.....Through the front door

When I opened the front door this morning I was greeted by our three girls who wait for us at the door every morning.
Just inside the front door, you'll always find my bag waiting for me.
And then you walk into the heart of our home, where our food prep and baking happen, our kitchen bench, which is also our family table.

Shelley from Femme de Montmartre wanted a peek through our front door this week.

Thanks for visiting, why don't you stay
for a cup of tea and some cake.
If you want to go through some more front doors, stop by Pip's for some directions.
