To all the mums that are beginning school/kinder holidays today, I hope you have a calm, stress free and most importantly a fun two weeks.

I am enjoying my little girl before she enters the big world of school next year and don't wish a day away, hanging on to it and savouring every moment...good or bad.

We are making paper today....wish me luck.
Happy week to you ♥

Doily inspired cupcake wrapper

Granny squares and doilies are so very in at the moment, so I thought I'd dress up a little ol' cupcake with a paper doily.

All I did was take a paper doily, cut it out and attach to a baked cupcake and in the words of these girls, voila, très chic!

Happy day

pretty packages

Thoroughly spoilt this week with wonderful packages of loveliness from the wonderful blogging world and virtual friends.

Thank you Beck for the ever soo generous package you put together that practically had everything in it...not the kitchen sink, BUT organic garlic...and chocolate, yummy handmade soap, button hairclips and how could I even begin to describe the amazing little pirate bunny that you specially made for a certain little boy (who also happens to have a stitches scar)...and yes he feels as soft and cuddly as he looks. Thank you

This wonderful brooch by the amazingly talented and new again mum Rachel, thank you

Hope you can pop by and visit these lovely sweet ladies and say hello.

Happy day lovely friends, I think I need to go off and ponder how I can now spread some more love and repay the good Karma.

Honey Jumbles

I just realised that I have been using honey and spices in alot of things lately, I guess it's because it's winter and the smells and tastes make you feel warm and sweet.

Have been thinking about making Honey Jumbles for a while and saw them over at Liss's the other day and definitely had to try them as they look and believe me they smell soooo good!

My critics advise me they are delicious and very moreish.

Honey Jumbles

  • 90g butter
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons mixed spice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 1/2 cups icing sugar, sifted
  • vanilla extract
  • strawberry paste

  • Place butter and honey in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil over a low heat. Simmer for a few minutes, then allow to cool for about 15 minutes
  • Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices and add to butter mixture, gently stir in milk.
  • Allow to cool at room temperature for about an hour
  • Preheat oven to 180°C. Line baking trays with baking paper.
  • Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead, adding a little flour if needed
  • Divide mixture into four portions and roll each into a long sausage shape and cut each sausage into six pieces
  • Tuck cut edges under slightly

  • Place biscuits onto trays. Bake for about 8 to 12 minutes or until biscuits begin to crack on surface.
  • For Icing : Whisk egg white in a bowl. Add icing sugar, stirring until smooth, add strawberry paste or red food colour to half the icing. Add vanilla extract to other half
  • Spread pink icing over half the biscuits and white over the other half. Allow to set

Hope you get a chance to try them, thanks to those that have tried other recipes and let me know the results, really appreciate it.

Have a good Saturday friends

My Creative Space...

Just a bit wet at the moment after our walk this morning in the rain.

I have been playing around with these and the kids love them.
It's nothing you haven't seen around before, but it's something that encourages their imagination and calm role play which is definitely a good thing.

Hope you are having a wonderfully creative day, there's definitely a whole lot over here.
