It's been cold this week, it certainly feels like winter.

It feels like I haven't baked anything for you for ages!!

The truth is I have, I have baked sooo much that I can tell you I am nearly all baked out.

As much as I love baking, after tomorrow I won't want to look at my oven, icing, sprinkles, cake boxes or food colours on my hands all week.

and these mini chocolate croissants that this lovely lady reminded me of from my recipes

I forgot how easy they were to make for a quick treat

and how quickly they disappear

I also wanted to thank you for having the biggest heart EVER!

the amount of loving and the wonderful donation offers and emails I have been getting, hearing your personal stories, you girls are absolutely amazing!!

wow, I do love this blog community we call home and as much as I love my real life friends, the friends I have made through the blog world are just out of this world.

Backpacks & Cushions

The backpack is complete thanks to a wonderful and very, very easy tutorial over at Nikki's

 

It's for library day at kinder but we are using it everywhere.  

It makes me smile.  I love kid's drawings, they make me happy.

 

He drew it and I made it, what great teamwork.  

I love it and so does he.

Something we also love is the cushion swap loving we received in the mail....AMAZING!!
Thank you Michelle and thank you Vic, you are just awesome.

I love it, especially those teeny tiny ants marching along!

Sometimes it's hard

Thank you for the votes and the sweetness, I really have felt speechless and emotional with all your beautiful words, emails and love.

Right now I am supposed to be writing a post for Kidspot and Ford and telling you about "what drives me..."

Well, it's just so hard, it's one of those things where it is a conflict of heart and I have absolutely nothing against people that do advertising on their blogs, but it simply isn't me.

This week something definitely has been driving me and it has been missing my dad and wanting to help raise funds for the Cancer Council to support the fight against Cancer.

This last week all the hurt and grieving came flooding back and when that happens, the fuzziness starts again.

This week, this has been what has been driving me and as I write this with tears I hope that one day there will be a cure.

If you are interested in attending an afternoon tea I am organising as part of Australia's Biggest morning tea, it will be on Sunday the 19th of June 

and the ever so lovely Nikki has offered her studio as the  location

There will be a delicious afternoon high tea baked by me with unlimited supply of tea, coffee, sandwiches, cupcakes, sweets etc at $20 per person

If you are one of those wonderful crafty souls out there who cannot attend but would like to, you can donate here or if you'd like to make something to be included in a raffle please send me an email.

I would love your support, the Cancer Council would LOVE your support and I would also love any ideas you may have for this afternoon tea.

Cushion fun

Thanks for the loving, I really needed it, you made me cry and you made me smile, you girls are amazing!

It also gave me the motivation to start and complete my cushion cover last night

I had so much fun with this.  After alot of procrastination about how I should do the back, I finally settled on an envelope style with some vintage floral fabric

I used some of the floral for the flowers and machine stitched the stem and leaf detail on denim(my favourite) 

It's not perfect, maybe a bit wonky and very minimal but it's my first ever cushion cover and I really enjoyed making it.  

Fingers crossed my swappee likes it.

Thanks Vic, this was soooo much fun.

It's been a little quiet round here...

I feel like I have been hiding this last week, peeking a little into your lives yet not sharing any of my life with you.

Mothers day went by and I felt a little sad.  A little part of me wanted my dad to see what a great mum I am or one that I hoped to be.

It's strange but I just missed him so much, I thought I was dealing with the grief and all of a sudden it just came flooding back.

Sorry, I don't have many words this week but I invite you for a cup of tea and a glimpse at a few things we've been up to

A little bit awkward...

Hello friends, just a quick post about Kidspots top 50 bloggers which I have been lucky enough to be nominated for.

I feel a bit at a loss, I don't normally try and promote myself and posts like these make me feel a little uneasy.

I know everyone says they blog because they just love it so I don't want to give you all that, you know that I do, so things like this are hard for me to promote, those who know me in the real world would know that this is quite painful to do.

Clever chickies

Don't you love it when star quality runs in the family!

this one was a pressie for me from the wee girl...I had a market hangover you see, very thoughtful indeed, thank you ♥

I may have to use my sweet smelling eye pillow soon as I have been to the dentist and the anaesthetic is wearing off.

On a different topic, The biggest morning tea is approaching and I'm in the middle of arranging an afternoon tea on the 12th of June*.

More details soon, I'd love it if you could come, a wonderful lady is opening up her studio for us to meet, chat, sip tea, eat and raise some money.
